I’m a composer and sound director. I study at the Direction Department of the Łódź Film School, I’m also a graduate of Sound Direction at the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz.
I composed the sound and music for dozens of short films, documentaries, and animations, awarded with many prizes at international film festivals.

I am also the co-creator of the Łódź-based Odpoczno band, steming from traditional music of the Opoczno Region, with whom I am working on an album.

When you sit during the summer on a hot pier, and jump into the cool lake. Or when you’re thirsty and you take a big sip. When you walk out in late spring towards the light rain. Or when you slowly submerge in a river. I thought about all these things as I worked on this material. About the beneficial feeling of encounter with water. About swimming way out where there is nothing to be seen.

A recording that touches something ancient in us and brings a shift to places not yet discovered. It's hard to describe in any sensible way something that definitely mixes the spirit of Palestrina with the legacy of minimalism, reductionism and improvisation, although that's not really important here. A deeply emotional thing that doesn't talk about humanity, but speaks directly to it. jiristepan
